Safety Manager

THE ROLE
In this role, the ultimate goal is to cultivate a culture of safety consciousness and responsible decision-making among drivers and employees. This position involves extensive collaboration with Logistics operations personnel, necessitating prompt responses to inquiries and issues while simultaneously developing effective solutions. The job demands a high level of independence, minimal supervision, a creative mindset, and the willingness to travel as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Engage directly with drivers and employees to shape safer behaviors and decisions, increasing safety consciousness across the team. The aim is to ensure compliance, improve safety, and develop a culture that values responsible, safe driving.
• Oversee the implementation and management of DOT Compliance Programs, including Driver Qualification, Drug/Alcohol Programs, and Vehicle Maintenance.
• Act as a subject matter expert for DOT, analyzing data to enhance safety performance and improve coaching for risky behaviors.
• Conduct audits and investigations related to incidents, accidents, and work-related injuries, providing post-incident counseling and retraining when necessary.
• Apply risk assessment and hazard analysis principles to manage project milestones effectively.
• Partner with Logistics Managers to refine key metric reporting and identify improvement opportunities based on accident trends.
• Support compliance with FMCSA regulations and monitor the Transportation Safety Policy (FSP), policies, and procedures.
• Develop a DOT driver training program that includes new hires, remedial, post-accident, ongoing, and annual refresher courses.
• Monitor driver qualifications and high-risk drivers, advising on proactive interventions or restrictions.
• Promote a proactive, behavior-based approach to safe driving, emphasizing personal responsibility and incident prevention.
• Foster communication and education on DOT and Safety topics, visiting locations to educate on safety policies and procedures.
• Assess permit requirements to ensure compliance with local jurisdictions and FMCSA.
• Manage personnel effectively, coordinating with first responders and federal agencies.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE POSSESSES:
Possess experience in communicating with truck drivers and exhibit exceptional written and verbal communication skills to ensure professional and courteous interaction.
Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Proficiency in Google Docs and experience in using spreadsheet and word processing software.
A college degree or some college coursework completed, although this is preferred rather than required.
Knowledge of the company’s Transportation Management System, as well as technology software such as Prezi and Flowcharts, or the ability to learn these systems swiftly.
A proactive and self-starting personality, coupled with problem-solving capabilities.
Sound knowledge of the transportation industry.
The ability to communicate well with others in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Solid problem-solving skills and effective management abilities
Previous experience communicating with truck drivers a plus!
Ability to communicate effectively in a courteous and professional manner; written and verbal.
Excellent organizational skills with a high level of detail.
Proficient in Google docs
College degree preferred or some college coursework completed

Load Planner

THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with a can do attitude. The Dispatch department is essential to the growth of the company. They will be provided all the best tools and resources to complete their goals. They will communicate professionally with our customers to manage and coordinate the most efficient loads to remain cost effective as a company. They will also monitor drivers logs and serve as a reliable point of contact.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists in planning, directing, and coordinating all activities for drivers by performing the following duties
• Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Understanding of routing for drivers.
• Ability to generate high inbound and outbound call volume to manage clients and secure loads for drivers
• Contributes input and planning on routes, checks efficiency
• Responsible for dispatching activities, communication operations, and assignment of drivers to obtain optimum use of HOS and equipment
• Ability to prioritize and organize daily functions
• Tracks all variable expenses to include mileage and fuel reports
• Note maintenance and work with repair department and minimize downtime and maximize up time and mitigate any service interruptions
• Ensure drivers complete pre-trip inspections – For safety and maintain compliance requirements
• Ensure drivers are in presentable uniforms and required equipment to complete their tasks
• Ensure drivers are using using their customer apps properly
• Manages customer expectations and maintains a high level of service
• Strong problem solving skills
• Notifies Human Resources if drivers are not being compliant or are being insubordinate
• Checks trip and dispatch logs for conformance with schedules and ensure the drivers accurately fill out logs, HOS and manifests.
• Makes calls throughout the day to track progress of drivers

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE POSSESSES:

Be available to be contacted on off duty hours when emergencies arise.
Prefer 2 years of prior work experience in a dispatch role with experience in a support role is preferred.
Highly proficient in Dispatch software and Load boards (DAT and ELD)
Strong ability to communicate, multi-task and work in high pressure situations.
Flexibility to work overtime, flex schedule and be on call and work weekends as needed

Dispatchers and Load Planner

Load Planner: Critical Supply Solutions is looking for an experienced Load Planner to locate and streamline commercial freight to CSS Drivers. CSS is looking for a Load Planner that can factor in time, cost, and efficiency to achieve the maximum value of the load.
This position is based on a competitive Salary & Commission.

Transportation Dispatcher (Full-Time, Part-time, Trainee, Entry Level): Critical Supply Solutions is looking for Dispatcher both experienced and entry level to assist with the cargo delivery needs of CSS drivers and customers. The Dispatcher will execute load monitoring and the best practices needed to ensure that all the logistical goals of CSS are met.
